LPG tank system Mitterteich

The construction of a liquefied gas tank farm was planned on the company premises of Schott AG in Mitterteich. In order to maintain operations, shoring was required on all sides of the excavation pit. The excavation pit was closed off as a temporary safety measure with a reinforced shotcrete shell and untensioned anchors (nail wall). The liquefied gas tanks had to be secured against buoyancy after installation. This was done with micropiles, which formed the back anchoring for tension bands, which in turn spanned the tanks. The construction pit was backfilled with liquid soil, for which the excavated material from the construction pits was processed.
Additional technical equipment and fire protection measures were required for the operation of the liquid gas plant. The foundations and fire walls were constructed using reinforced concrete components.
